Day 2 Highlights!

Saturday 5 June saw Whakatipu Music Festival step into an all-day musical groove.

Kicking off with our Community Music Showcase featuring local musicians in the morning! It’s great to see so much budding musical talent of all ages and abilities from across the Whakatipu Basin. A lovely opportunity for youngsters to perform together and gain confidence on-stage. We look forward to seeing further community performances scheduled for Sunday and Monday at 9:30am – get tickets here!

A lazy, rainy Saturday afternoon gave the perfect setting for the first block of our Young Artist Recitals. We heard from the best up-and-coming classical music talent – watch out, these guys are going pro! Catch the livestream recording online here, or head on down to Sunday’s recital at 2:30pm. Tickets here!

Last of all, but certainly not least, Saturday night’s concert took us on a transformative journey through the seasons. With professional artists Anna Leese, soprano, Stephen De Pledge, piano, and Jonathan Cohen, clarinet, our minds were blown! Stunningly beautiful performances, absolutely show-stopping. We are so lucky to be able to have such world-class talent right here amongst us in New Zealand! Livestream recording of this event is also available online here, otherwise be sure to catch Sunday’s evening concert; featuring our Young Artists performing a Chamber Ensemble at 7pm. Tickets still for sale here.
