DAY 2 OF SEMI-FINAL ROUNDS

Yesterday, the second semi-final rounds of the Competitions were held. The format of the competition required that each semi-finalist performed two separate recitals over the two days of semi-finals, consisting of contrasting works representing different genres of musical styles and include at least one work by a New Zealand composer.  What a treat for our small but keen audience and for our adjudicators.

We want to thank the competitors again for their incredible performances over the last two days and for their resilience in maintaining their strong commitment to music during these challenging times. We also want to express our heartfelt thanks to the competitors’ parents, family and teachers, for their ongoing and unwavering support.

Keep an eye out for all these extraordinary musicians, our competitors; they are going to do New Zealand proud as they continue to embark on their musical journey.

The finalists were announced last night and we wish them all the best for the Grand Final this afternoon. For those not able to join us in person, please join us for the livestream available at www.nationalstringcompetition.co.nz.
