The 2024 Lewis Eady National Piano Competition: a celebration of emerging talent!

The Grand Final of the 2024 Lewis Eady National Piano Competition took place on December 16, in tandem with the National String Competition, showcasing the exceptional talents of some of New Zealand’s finest emerging musicians.

The prize-winners captivated the audience with their skill and artistry and were celebrated for their extraordinary dedication, with monetary awards along with performance opportunities and the reputational boost that comes with success.

 

The winners of the 2024 Lewis Eady National Piano Competition are:

Alex Bai
First Prize | $5,000
Alex Bai, a 14 year old pianist who attends Dilworth School in Auckland, took home the top prize of $5,000, generously donated by Murray Jacobs. In addition to the monetary award, Alex will showcase his talent in a recital at the Lewis Eady Steinway Showroom and have the opportunity to perform with the Auckland Philharmonia.

The 2024 Lewis Eady National Piano Competition has once again proven to be a vital platform for emerging pianists in New Zealand, providing them with the recognition and opportunities to take their careers to the next level.
