It is New Zealand\u2019s most prestigious classical music competition and arguably one of its key iconic events of the calendar.<\/p>\n

The Michael Hill International Violin competition provides travel and accommodation for the quarter- finalists, encouraging robust competition and the chance of a lifetime \u2013 to perform beautiful music against the backdrop of one of the most beautiful countries on earth.<\/p>\n

Competitors stay with caring, kiwi families in Queenstown (South Island) and then Auckland (North Island).\u00a0 They experience\u00a0manaakitanga<\/em>\u00a0\u2013 the unique New Zealand version of hospitality that places a visitor\u2019s wellbeing first.<\/p>\n
